Here are a few of my favorite sites. We know you will enjoy the music.
- BusterWilliams
- Listen to the one of
the giants of jazz bass. Ed Howard, Air Apparent's first
bassist, studied with Buster Williams
under the auspices of a study apprenticeship from the
National Endowment for the Arts
-
JazzCollective
- Frank Kimbrough is one of the finest
pianists on the planet and was also a member of Air Apparent
in its formative years
- GarrisonJazz
- Matthew Garrison has played with such
greats as John McLaughlin. Son of Coltrane's most
memorable bassist, Jimmy Garrison
- JPM
- Joseph Patrick Moore is a force to be
reckoned with. Currently working out of Atlanta, he is breaking
new ground for bassists. His soulful playing is a treat
for the soul but his harmonic tastes are honey to the
ears
-
PaulBollenback
- One of Armen's early
musical colleagues from Washington, DC. This jazz
guitarist has played with Joey DeFrancesco and others
and has received accolades from John
McLaughlin and George Benson and much lavish praise from
the press.
- JazzCorner
-
This site has everything but the kitchen sink. It has
artist reviews, featured artist of the month, and the
URLs to at least 100 of the most noted musicians and
composers of jazz in all forms.
HarrisThor
- Specializes in
guitar and bass customization. Let him
epoxy your fretless bass fretboard and hear the clarity and
strength of tone. It is very much
like a piano in tone, and your vibrato is more
responsive. It should last you a lifetime
-
DennisChambers
- One of the giants of jazz drumming. He
plays straight ahead, fusion and all else. He has worked
with John McLaughlin and many other great artists.
Armen performed
with Dennis in the late 1980s in Baltimore
-
-
Bannister Music
- music store located in Anderson, SC run by Greg Alewine, bassist,
great source for pianos, PAs, and other equipment
www.soundclick.com/michaelrhoden
- Michael Rhoden put
the Air Apparent web site together and is back after
a 20-year hiatus from the music scene. If you like RTF,
McLaughlin and other 70's fusion bands, check him out.
-
Erik Hargrove
- Former drummer with
James Brown from 1996 until 2005, he's now with the
Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus, Erik played
with Air Apparent between 1997 and 2004 and
endorses Audix microphones and Bosporus Cymbals
